The Workplace
We provide advice and information for employers who would like to employ someone who is blind or vision impaired, or who have an existing employee who has experienced vision loss.

Employers can also access our information on making information and built environments accessible for their employees.
Business who employ people who are blind or vision impaired have access to advice and financial assistance. The Employment Assistance Fund, operated through JobAccess, provides equipment and training to enable workplaces to be modified to meet the specific needs of their employees. Information about the scheme is available through JobAccess.
Our professional development workshops help businesses to train staff or employees in skills such as sighted guiding, communicating with people who are blind or vision impaired and assistive technologies.
The Disability Services Commission also provides information on staff training in disability awareness, and disability access and inclusion plans.
