Living Safe Group

People who are blind or vision impaired feel vulnerable to crime, harassment and other negative behaviours. This is primarily due to perpetrators' perception of them as ‘easy targets' - particularly the elderly.

Our Living Safe Program empowers people with vision loss by teaching essential self defence, assertiveness, awareness and protective strategies. These strategies increase self confidence, wellbeing and sense of safety when out in the community, at home and in the workplace.

Participants increase their knowledge and awareness to avoid risks in the event of psychological, emotional and physical attacks and avoid being a victim of crime.

Transport Service

Volunteer drivers and staff transport seniors who are not able to travel on public transport or access external transport agencies to travel from their homes to participate in our leisure, sport and recreation programs.
