School Aged Children
We support children who are blind or vision impaired and their families as they progress through their schooling. Services such as orientation and mobility, occupational therapy, psychology and social work can be accessed by clients at home, school or at the Association. Children can also access a broader range of services including Low Vision and Technology.
Our programs include:
School Holiday Program
The school holiday Fun Club program provides opportunities for children age 6 to 17 to participate in various activities during the school holidays. If you would like information about our 2010 Fun Club program please contact us.
Saturday Program
Our Saturday Program operates during school terms and provides children with a safe and supportive environment to try new activities and learn important life skills while having lots of fun. It also provides opportunities for peer support. For 2010 Saturday Program dates please contact us.
Camp
A camp is run by the Children and Family Services Team each year for children aged 10 to 17. Camp provides the opportunity for children to improve their independence and self-care skills while taking part in fun activities. Camp also provides great opportunities for peer support and for children to live in community with others who share their experiences for a period of time.
Lotterywest Children's Centre
The Lotterywest Children's Centre acts as the hub for the Saturday program and Fun Club and is used by the young clients in the Kindergarten program. It provides children and young people with access to a wide range of technology for study and recreation.
