Volunteer for Mini Dog Program

Mini and Model Dogs are our Guide Dog-shaped collection containers that raise vital funds and awareness of our Guide Dog program here in WA. All donations received are invested directly into our specialist mobility services, including Guide Dogs—making a profound difference to the lives of West Australians who are blind or vision impaired.

Maxwell Penny, a Mini Dog VolunteerThere are many ways that individuals, businesses and teams can support the Mini Dog program.

Businesses

Engage your customers and become an integral part of the WA community by hosting a Mini or Model Dog.

The process is simple, just register your support for a Mini or Model Dog and we will deliver the Dog to your business as soon as we can (usually within one week).Yellow Labrador puppy with a Mini Dog

The Dog will be emptied every three months by our dedicated team of volunteers, and every six months you will receive a special ‘Thank you’ certificate with the amount your Dog has raised. Our Collectors will always present their official Guide Dogs WA badge before removing the dog and its contents.

We also offer self-banking if we do not have a volunteer in your local area. Our self-banking option is handy for businesses that regularly need change, as they can use the change from their Mini Dog and forward the donations to us via Direct Deposit.

If the Dog is stolen, we won’t under any circumstances hold your business liable for any Mini Dogs in the unfortunate event of theft. We do encourage Businesses to chain the Mini Dogs to the counter, which we can provide.
