Harley & Harrison
In the graduation spotlight recently was Autism Assistance Dog Cooper, now a loyal companion to 4-year old Gia and Assistance Dog Harley, new best mate of 5-year-old Harrison. These remarkable dogs have each undergone 9 months of intensive training to prepare them for their unique roles.
As you may be aware, children with autism often have very low awareness of danger and limits. Our Autism Assistance Dogs undergo specialist training so they can improve the quality of life for both the child with autism and his or her family through three key areas: safety, independence and inclusion.
To witness the bond between these children and their Autism Assistance Dog is something truly magical!
We’ve uploaded a short video clip of a day-in-the-life of Harley & Harrison (and it will warm your heart.)
