Help Guide their Future
Our four most recent puppy arrivals were sponsored by and named in honor of West Australians who left a gift in their Will to Guide Dog WA.
A Special Society Inspired by a Visionary Western Australian
The Arnold Cook Society was named in honour of Dr Arnold Cook who in 1951 established Australia’s first Guide Dog training school right here in Perth.
‘Tony’ Lightfoot’s vision for Guide Dogs
In April 2016, we were introduced to a new member of the Guide Dogs WA family. Anthony ‘Tony’ Lightfoot had lost his battle with a long illness in 2014, leaving a gift in his Will to support the work of the Guide Dog program in WA.
Frank Mitchell’s Lasting Legacy
His support for VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA began in the 1980’s, and over three decades his generosity progressed from giving regularly to our direct mail appeals to becoming a major donor for some of our significant campaigns.
Mena Changes a Life
Guide Dog Mena is a unique kind of gift. The yellow Labrador was sponsored through a gift in one generous Albany resident’s Will, and given her sponsor’s middle name to honour her passing.
Guide Dog Goldie is a Gold Star
Guide Dog Goldie was sponsored by a trio of siblings, Di White, Darryl Richards and Vicki Burges who tragically lost both their parents within a week of one another.
