1) How Long Have You Been Volunteering For Guide Dogs WA?
Coming up to five years this year
2) Why did you get involved?
Because I have always wanted to work with Guide Dogs and when we moved back to Perth from Adelaide, I realised that I was only a few minutes away from the Guide Dogs centre in Victoria Park.
3) What do you do for GDWA?
I started as a temporary boarder for four years and have been counting the donations received through the Mini Dogs program for the last two years. I have recently started taking Ambassador Dog, Maddy to events including the Perth Upmarket, Valentines Day – Smooch a Pooch event & the Fragile X Gala Dinner. We’ve also been to the 4WD Expo, plus a charity car wash with Swan Taxis who sponsor another Guide Dog.
4) What keeps you coming back?
I feel like part of the family, and as I live really close, means I can get involved more.
We wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Jackie for all her hard work, time and effort for us – we really appreciate it!
If you have some spare time and would like to get involved in volunteering with us, we’d love to hear from you! Please complete the form below and one of our team will be in touch to discuss how you can help. Please note that volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
