Guide Dogs at the Maylands Street Festival

Representatives from Guide Dogs WA hit the Maylands Street Festival in early May, the most popular of course being Public Relations Guide Dog Luna.

Hosting a stall between 11am – 5:30pm, Luna worked to educate the public about Guide Dogs: talking to people, selling merchandise and wagging her tail at the generosity of the public who chose to donate.

Guide Dog puppies-in-training Bailey, Jesmond and Barnsey also dropped by at various points throughout the day to help Luna work the crowd. Each dog charmed the stall visitors in their own special way, and some members of the public even recognised Luna, Bailey and Jesmond from the streets of Perth on International Guide Dog Day in late April!

Guide Dogs WA Campaign Ambassador Alex Cearns from Houndstooth Studio also paid Luna a visit—this little girl has got quite the following nowadays!

Visitors shared stories and photos of their own pet dogs (especially those with Labradors!) and a total of $808 was donated throughout the day. It was a fantastic effort all round, a big thank you to everyone who came by, donated and made the day such a success.
