As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve globally and in Australia we wanted to share with you some important information about the programs at Guide Dogs WA.
From now until the end of June we have cancelled our appearances at community fundraising and supporter events.
This has been a difficult decision but we feel that it is the right decision at this time.
We will continue to follow the health and protection advice issued by Government authorities, and look forward to resuming an active calendar of events and engaging the community in the life-changing effect of our amazing Guide and Autism Assistance Dogs.
At this stage, the very important work at Guide Dogs WA will continue during this period of uncertainty. There are currently over 40 pups and dogs in the training programs who will continue to work with their puppy raisers, trainers and be boarded with Formal Boarding families. Plus we have a number of Guide dogs and Autism Assistance Dogs nearing the end of their training which means they will soon be matched to clients living with low vision, disability and illness.
Our clients and dogs still need your support!
Please continue to;
- support the training programs by donating online
- submit applications for Puppy Raising and Formal Boarding
- follow us on social media – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and read the stories on this website
Our greatest priority at all times is the health and safety of our clients, dogs, volunteers, supporters and team members.
We are truly grateful for the support of the community and thank everyone for your understanding.
