The staff at Guide Dogs WA welcomed three new recruits to the Guide Dog program mid-May—the first intake for 2016!
There was high levels of excitement when the puppies arrived, as they explored the Children and Youth Services playground (which had lots of yummy leaves on the ground).
The puppies came direct from a specialised breeding program in Guide Dogs Victoria, and all three puppies went on to their new homes and settled in nicely with their Puppy Raisers. All three Puppy Raisers are new to our program, and if you’re interested in joining our loyal pack of committed Puppy Raisers, you can learn more about what’s involved.
Little caramel-coloured Gully was an instant hit in front of the camera. She knew how to strike a pose; a big thank you to Ian & Jill Green for sponsoring Gully on behalf of VisAbility President Debbie Schaffer.
Cheeky Jaxx, sponsored by our partners at the Think Fragile X Foundation, had lots of character and was reminiscent of a young Gidgee. If he’s anything like Mr. Gidge, he’ll be a hit with everyone he meets!
Quiet and sweet Comet tripped over his own feet a few times, and the lovely sponsors of our Public Relations Guide Dog Luna, M Watts Legal, kept the space theme alive.
You can follow these puppies’ progress on our puppies-in-training page—many thanks to our generous sponsors for bringing these puppies into the program!
In the meantime, here’s a little peek at their sweet little personalities as they explored their new home for the first time…
Watch this space as we have three more puppies coming soon from Guide Dogs Queensland!
