24 April, 2020

Wednesday 29 April 2020 is International Guide Dog Day! It is on this day each year, communities across the world celebrate the important role Guide Dogs play in the community.

Guide Dogs give hope and opportunity, freedom and independence and provide an extraordinary transformation in the lives of Western Australians living with blindness and low vision. The owners of these amazing dogs celebrate their loyalty and friendship each and every day.

Traditionally our “orange army” take to the streets of Perth and beyond to remind the community that Guide Dogs Can Go Anywhere and help raise much needed funds for the training program.

This year, with the Western Australian community staying safely at home, we’re shaking things up a little.

In celebration of International Guide Dog Day, buildings and landmarks in the Perth CBD and surrounds will be lit orange. At sundown on Wednesday 29 April 2020 the lights will go on and a wash of bright orange can be seen at;
