Celebrating the Graduation of 17 Life Changing Dogs

Guide Dogs WA marked a major milestone at Optus Stadium on 7 November 2025, celebrating the graduation of 17 exceptional dogs who have become Guide, Autism Assistance, Breeding, and Companion Dogs.

This biannual event brings together the community behind each dog’s journey — from breeding whelpers and puppy raisers to trainers, sponsors, and new clients. Over 180 supporters attended, including six graduating dogs: one Autism Assistance Dog, three Brood Dogs, and two Guide Dogs.

The 2025 graduates — including Bradley, Dottie, Walter, Andrew, Lita, Graham, Bill, Merle, Mary, Chester, Joe, Korra, Chase, Kerry, Elle, Nick, Rose, Kaya, Yuki, and Velvet — are now transforming lives through increased independence, safety, and companionship, or contributing to the future of the program.

Guide Dogs WA CEO Anna Presser said, “It takes a community to raise and train each dog. These events are a heartfelt celebration of the incredible impact these dogs have on people living with low or no vision, disability or illness.

It is always a special night to hear the stories, share a laugh and always a tear or two and I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated team and volunteers who make this life-changing work possible.”

Among the graduates is Lita, a 3-year-old golden Labrador placed with a 7-year-old girl as an Autism Assistance Dog, offering comfort and security both at home and in the community. Fellow graduates Bradley, Dottie, Walter, and Andrew are now matched as Guide Dogs.

Guide Dogs WA relies on the generosity of the Western Australian public to continue its vital work. Every donation helps fund the breeding, training, and matching of these extraordinary dogs with people who need them most.
