International Guide Dog Day is a special day where communities across the world celebrate the important role Guide Dogs play in the lives of the people they assist. Guide Dogs give hope and opportunity, freedom, and independence and provide an extraordinary transformation in the lives of Western Australians living with low or no vision, disability, or illness.

International Guide Dog Day – WA 2025

April 30th was International Guide Dog Day this year, and we were out and about to celebrate it! You might have seen us, but for those of you who didn’t, have a look at the photos below from around our city!

Thanks to our generous donors, we managed to raise over $30,000 on International Guide Dog Day. We also saw an increase in volunteer sign-ups and donations in the weeks that followed.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who came out and got involved on the day, and we can’t wait to see you all again next year. If you didn’t make it out to us, we hope you’ll come by next year and see how well our newest Guide Dog hopefuls are progressing with their training!

How can you lend a paw?

We are now taking expressions of interest for 2026 event day volunteers. Please email community.fundraising@guidedogswa.com.au for further information.
