Volunteer Spotlight - National Volunteer Week. Give a little. Change a lot. 21-27 May 2018
Continuing our spotlight series, to celebrate National Volunteer Week, from 21 – 27 May 2018, we are spotlighting a few of our fantastic volunteers who give up their time to help us deliver our commitment to providing Guide Dogs to the people of West Australia.
Lin with Ambassador Dog Gidgee

1) How Long Have You Been Volunteering For Guide Dogs WA?

Just over three years

2) Why did you get involved?

After donating through purchases for many years, I decided to give in other ways, so decided to volunteer my time instead.

3) What do you do for GDWA?

I help out in the fundraising office, processing mail and receipts for donations, help out at fundraising events and I bake dog biscuits for sale at events. As a dog lover from way back, I have had “all flavours” of labradors over the years. I also used to help collect Mini Dogs.

4) What keeps you coming back?

The good company and banter in the fundraising office of course! I get cuddles with the Ambassador Dogs and meet new Guide Dogs in training. I love knowing that the time I give up each week goes towards helping bring the next Guide Dog into our training program.

Thank you, Lin for all the hard work that you do for us – we really appreciate it!

If you have some spare time and would like to get involved in volunteering with us, we’d love to hear from you! Please complete the form below and one of our team will be in touch to discuss how you can help. Please note that volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
